Subtitles
All subtitles should have 50% opacity black backing in Roboto font. Font size should be according to each platform’s guidance and video formatting.
Text on screen
Text to provide narration on screen should be in Brooke’s Solido font. They can be animated, but make sure they are still easy to read and on screen for long enough. If you watch it back and can’t read the captions out loud in a natural pace in the time they remain on screen, this is a good indication that the duration needs to increase. Consider audiences with sight conditions or partial sight loss, who may need longer to read.

Logo
Never place the logo on a plain black background (e.g. end screens), please use Brooke orange or secondary colours as the background.
An animated logo is supplied here also. Please refrain from creating a new animated Brooke logo outside of the Brooke style and brand. If you would like to suggest a new version, please send it to UK Brand Marketing and Communications Team for sign off before use.
AVI file avaliable on Webdam here.
Transitions
Keep transition templates to a minimum or refrain from using overall. Avoid crossfades between live footage, sound effects and anything that doesn’t sit within Brooke branding (colours and tone of voice). Simple graphics in keeping with the theme of the video for example, a campaign where special icons or styles have been created are fine to use.
Music
Music should complement the visuals, but not overbear or be too dramatic or distracting. Aim to balance contemporary quality and emotion. It can be up-beat with a fast tempo, providing this doesn’t lead to fast captions or narration that is difficult to read or understand. Ensure the volume is adjusted so not to clash with spoken audio.
If your video focuses on one country, music can be suited to the country the video is from. For more general or multiple country videos, fit the tone of the message within the video.
Lastly, please always use licensed music from a trusted royalty-free site to ensure we don't face claims or legal action, or have restricted or banned playback. Please keep music licenses in case you ever need to provide them for proof of permission.

Social media videos
Staying relevant and capturing our audience’s attention is a constant challenge on social media. And now that we rely on video content more than ever, it’s critical to use the correct and most up to date social media video specs and advertising video sizes.
For organic videos for example, the standard format is now mostly portrait (except for long YouTube videos). For paid aids all formats are needed - landscape, square and portrait - to fit on different areas of the viewers' feeds. This however changes very frequently, depending on the changes the social media platforms decide to make.
It can also be tricky to ensure your on screen text is within the clearance area, and is not blocked by the existing text within the platform itself.
