Lists

Lists are useful for website content writing. They help readers scan a page, improve SEO, and generally help writers condense wordy sentences into clear, succinct points.

Here’s how we use them at Brooke.

Bulleted or unordered lists

Unordered lists A list of key points, for example: Things to pack:

  • Camera
  • Sunscreen
  • Passport

Don’t put a full stop at the end of a bullet point unless it’s a complete sentence,­ in which case it should start with a capital letter. Don’t mix bullet-pointed lists and sentences.

Numbered or ordered lists

A series of steps that should be followed in that order, for example:

How to get to Brooke UK:

  1. Take the tube to Southwark station
  2. Turn left out of the station
  3. Walk up Blackfriars Road to Friars Bridge Court
  4. Take the lift to the fifth floor
