Lists
Lists are useful for website content writing. They help readers scan a page, improve SEO, and generally help writers condense wordy sentences into clear, succinct points.
Here’s how we use them at Brooke.
Bulleted or unordered lists
Unordered lists A list of key points, for example: Things to pack:
- Camera
- Sunscreen
- Passport
Don’t put a full stop at the end of a bullet point unless it’s a complete sentence, in which case it should start with a capital letter. Don’t mix bullet-pointed lists and sentences.
Numbered or ordered lists
A series of steps that should be followed in that order, for example:
How to get to Brooke UK:
- Take the tube to Southwark station
- Turn left out of the station
- Walk up Blackfriars Road to Friars Bridge Court
- Take the lift to the fifth floor
